Jetpac on DS.
PGR2.

Still got SotC to try as well. And as soon as I've raised some cash on ebay I shall buy a DFP for some GT4 hotlapping.

Professor Layton and the Mysterious Town.

Until I get some work finished on probably Wednesday 'proper' games aren't going to be getting a look in - this is absolutely perfect for dipping in and out of, playing for a decent period of time or just taking five minutes out for a break from something else.

Winning Eleven 2007 on the PS2 and PES 6 on the PC, although I'm not really playing PES 6 cause I don't yet have a USB adapter for my PS2 control pad. I'll probably get one from play-asia eventually.

And when it frustrates me to the point of wanting to smash it into a thousand little pieces, I swap it out for a nice relaxing go on the Pinball Gottlieb Collection. Still can't beat the golf table in challenge mode :(

Slitherlink - Ace stuff.

Champions League 360 - Double ace stuff, quick goes turn into hour long just on more go card hunts.

Shivering Isles - Lots of new things to see, I jsut wish the prince guys voice wasn't so annoying.

Also got Sim City DS which very occasionally gets a look in between playing those other 3 beauts. But it's Kanji-tastic.

meh. stoopid playstation store. i was really hoping to see demos of a few more things on there like the aforementioned vf5 :(

anyways, i played a bit of gran turismo hd, unlocked all the cars, drift mode, and track reversal. 'snot bad but i don't quite see where all the huuuuuuuge gt love comes from.

from that i went over to the ridge racer 7 demo. holy shitcakes! is it possible to drive those fucking cars straight? from the first corner onwards i spent the entire race going sideways, it's bloody ridiculous. whilst i can't understand where all the love for gt comes from, i can't understand why anyone would play this at all. it's mental.

and i thought i'd check out genji too. heh. not gonna say anything else about it.

this morning i had me a nice little fiddle with tekken. as cool as it is, it's not obviously offering me more than tekken 5 on ps2 though.

ho hum.

I'm going to recommend Puzzle Quest DS based on the fact my better half put five hours into it yesterday. I've never seen her so glued to a game.

I haven't got near it yet.

Playing GOW2 and Puzzle Quest at the moment. GOW2 is just awesome. Nasty, brutish and fun. Puzzle Quest is like crack. I keep playing it but I don't really know why. It's good but not that good. I've restarted twice cos I wasn't happy with my character class - don't bother with Knights or Druids, they are shite (or maybe they don't suit my play style).

I want to play more GRAW2 online but haven't had the chance.

I'm really surprised how little I'm seeing GRAW2 played online. Was it just too similar to the first game? A lot of folk seem to have migrated back to Vegas already.

Note: I'd like to get some more GRAWing done.

It's great getting back to the old 360 after 4 weeks off.

I'm having a blast with old friends - I've restarted Oblivion as a full on mage, and it's actually a joy; it feels very different somehow.

And I've been replaying Condemned - I can't work out how I've not considered that one of the best 360 games until now. It really is fantastic.

I'm on my fourth play through of Condemned right now. I'd consider it a "fun run" (back to the guns - yay!) but it still has the ability to make the old sphincter twitch. Excellent game. Makes me wonder why FEAR wasn't that little bit... more.

What the hell happened to the last six years of this thread!?

Anyway: after ninety minutes I'm delighted to report that Metro: Last Light doesn't disappoint so far. Check out a certain handsome devil's review of the first game to see just what lofty praise that is.

Blood Dragon: Biehn is better than the game.

Defiance. I haven't been this absorbed in a game since Chromehounds. It's absolute crack!

Finally took the chance of booting up Dark Arisen. Continuing where I left it in the Everfall (for the third time around) six months ago. Feeling a little disorientated at the moment.

Bioshock Infinite: back-burner. Just too many timesinks right now.

Tried the demo for Monaco. Quite liked it, but 1200 points? Mai non.

Waiting for the open world State of Decay on XBLA next month, Lovefilm to send me Gears: Judgement, Injustice and (because why not?) Fuse on 360.

Don't see me buying another game til GTA frankly.

I finished Prince of Persia last night (the cel-shaded one)- a game I started before by Borderlands 2 obsession. I was actually pretty close to the end too.

Anyway, a reasonable 7/10 for me - the platforming was good and the interaction between the Prince and Elika worked well. Combat was on the weak side, but fortunately there wasn't much of that.

I'll pick up the Epilogue when it's next on sale on PSN (7.99 for a 2 hour game is too much for me - especially as I picked up the main game for less than that!)

Playing the excellent Soul Sacrifice on Vita. I've never gotten on with Monster Hunter type games before, but this is really pressing my buttons.

I also played through Thomas Was Alone and the DLC. A brilliant, brilliant game!

Eek, you've just reminded me that I never finished off that particular PoP. Just found the 'hub' too flipping frustrating and the platforming was a bit too 'on rails' for me.

Loved the PoP that came immediately after it though, might have to replay that I think

What, no The Last of Us? Or do you not have a PS3 now?

Must get back to Defiance, was enjoying that. In a couple of weeks I'll have a lot more free time to play in a dark room, just as the Budapest summer blooms....

Actually, I'd forgotten all about The Last of Us. (And I need to check what's "free" on PS+ right now, too.)

Bloody hell, Metro Last Light is just fabulous. It's *slightly* easier now, given that they've made concessions to the moaning bitches who couldn't play it properly last time - but it, happily, isn't remotely like the stride towards full CoD-ification I was dreading.

Enjoying it a hell of a lot more than Bioshock: Infinite, sad to say.

I finished the story quests in Defiance last night. Make sure you take a BMG (and probably a decent grenade launcher) if you want to avoid the worst boss battle I've seen since Conan. (Fuck you, recharging three-stage health bar.) God knows who thought that prick was a good idea. Still loads to do, and I'm completely hooked on the damn thing.

Started up Dark Arisen and it hasn't eaten my old save (kiss of death). Resumed my game in the Everfall - for the second time - and ultimately completed the post-game again (achievements, yay). About to begin my nervous exploration of the new island, but at level 91 I can't see me being a complete novice.

Playing a tonne of new stuff on the iPad; many great boardgame implementations, and some snazzy stuff like the Infinity Blades, etc. Rather nice to see all this upscaled from my phone screen.

Just not enough hours in the day, as ever.

Red Dead Redemption - Xbox 360

I think this is my favourite game of all time. Great story, characters, gameplay and all set in the Wild West, my favourite film genre. The world seems so much more alive than any of the GTA games and I never fast travel anywhere as there is always something going on out on the trail. Great looking game too. The thunder storms are a thing of beauty.

Finished Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery (PS Vita) this morning - a short game clocking in at 3 hours, but decent fun. Similar to Professor Layton (puzzles and dialogue), but looks more like Costume Quest.

I'll definitely be picking up the remaining 4 episodes when they're released. (It's also out on iOS).

Started the Unfinished Swan yesterday too - very, very good game built around a simple premise. Played it with my 3 1/2 year old, who loved it too. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

The Unfinished Swan is... finished. Slightly disappointed how the game evolved in the 3rd (?) chapter, but an enjoyable overall experience - so much so, that I've gone back to collection the balloons I missed the first time 'round...

Started NFS Shift 2, as I fancied playing a track racer. Only played for 20 minutes or so, but so far it's not a patch on Race Driver Grid...

Either The Cave or The Walking Dead next.

Still playing (and enjoying) Soul Sacrifice on the Vita too :)
