I think Barton's brain just leaked into the Internet a little bit.

Just a touch.

I'd recommend Animal Crossing; I've never played it myself, but it might just be soothing enough for you. :)

I have Zelda, Viva Pinata, and Gears all lined up but honestly cannot muster the will to play any of them.

WTF is wrong with me? (apart for the fact that I am waiting for my new Dell 22" monitor to arrive and my fucking TV has been commandeered by the missus and I can't play fuck all until the wee hours when I am too bollixed to muster the will to play anything, can't play during the day as the little guys have spongebob et. al. on a loop stoopid kitchen TV decided fuck you I am going on strike, man I am gonna kill something soon)

You need fucked up PC freeware, dude. Linky and Linky, now that's what I call material. Screw Gears Of War.

I really don't see it - Animal Crossing that is.

I've played at a friend's with their characters, and created my own blah blah - but I'll be honest it all seemed mind numbingly dull.

Gaming Marmite in a nutshell I spose. But given the legendary length of the EG thread I think I maybe in the minority.

It's not, unfortunately. I know UL loved it, but I thought it got horribly tedious towards the end.

too fucking right this is getting frustrating. Got nice component leads last week from Mapster for my Wii (free the man is a star) and haven't had a chance to test them yet. Can't plug the fuckin 360 into the monitor because the youngest probaly ate the adaptor (cannot find it anywhere). To boot even if I had all this shit started I am too wrecked to play anything. One pissed off gamer.

Best thing for my Marriage was moving and getting a gaming / movie / spare room. So I guess you'll be in heaven when your screen finally turns up.

One thing I've learned about marriage is that the time apart can be almost important as the time together.

Oooh I could write for Cosmo me!

That's part of the problem too the PC etc is still down here in the kitchen and we are going to move it soon when the monitor arrives. The boys are in their own room now and it's time that the biggest kid had his own space back.

Any tips on how to get a new rig ;) the monitor is so fucked up even she wanted to get a new one. Hmmmm /cogs turning

You have 50 tips for really mind-blowing sex, eh? :)

I broke out Ninja Gaiden Black today and finally beat the first boss on Hard. It wasn't that difficult with the right strategy and lots of patience.

I'm supposed to be playing thru the game on Normal for the second time to get a better Karma score, but I'm also supposed to be collecting all 50 golden scarabs to unlock the original Ninja Gaiden. To do that I have to have a FAQ open on the computer and refer to it every 10 minutes and I can't be bothered.

Thanks for raining on my parade! ;-)

To show how much I was enjoying it, I was playing it on my new PC when it was crashing every 15 minutes because I was loving it. Since I've got it back I'm playing it for about 20 minutes, without a crash, then doing something else because I was nodding off.

Shame, good start but once it turned into a dungeon crawl with those fucking spiders the fun seemed to be sucked out of it.

Largely inspired by this thread, I've knocked the dust off the PS2 and fired up Firefighter FD18 and SotC again. Played the first six Colossi last night. Forgot how much I forgave the camera on my first playthrough - but it's still an awesome experience. That first flying colossus, on my first play, still ranks as one of my most memorable gaming moments ever.

While sorting through the shelves, I've (shamefully) found a few (well, a lot of) games that I either never got a chance to get in to - or bought for pence and never got around to playing. Have a nice little pile of (new) old stuff to work through: Forbidden Siren, Disgaea, Yakuza - pretty much untouched. Also going to have a run through Farenheit (is this 360 BC?), Socom 3, Trapt, WRC4 - and I fired up GRAW last night for a little (solo) multiplayer campaign.

On top of that, my partner is letting me get my paws on Zelda: TP (she wants me to do the wolf bits)... and I'm getting Okami for Valentine's Day.

I love games, me.

Worst part is, whenever I got through a spider encounter, I thought "That should be the last time I encounter those fuckers..I've seen enough of them to last a lifetime..won't bother with the poison resistance level up".

Then you turn the corner and encounter another 30 of them.

How it progresses and plays is almost entirely determined by how you're playing. If you levelled up into an ass-kicking warrior, then it sucks when you get to all the hemmed in bits (especially against the zombies). Magic, I found, is also fairly useless, with exception of heal. Best to be a mix between hand-to-hand and ranged, really.

Though I cheated and used the rope bow to take out most enemies from a distance. It's a shame that it's so exploitable.

This is the battiest game I've played since AM's Alice.

Today then.

The GRAW 2 demo (which is growing on me but OH it's so frustrating compared to R6V)

Mobile Train Sim (cheers Quedex - what a batshit crazy but strangely appealing game)

Lost Planet - in fact no more, as I've finished it - what a superb last battle

So back to Burnout Revenge for me now the Xbox is handling things a little better after its brain embolism this morning.

Really getting into Zelda now, got the Master Sword now so I can concentrate on some of these side-quests for a while. Personally I think that I may actually prefer these bits to the actual quest.

And I've just started (well, about 8-10 hours into) Paper Mario:TTYD. Got an NTSC copy for 11 off of Amazon Marketplace. Absolute bargain, it was a bit slow to get going but it's now giving me that warm, fuzzy feeling that M&L:PiT gave me.

/thanks God for Nintendo

Paper Mario is propbably one of the only games that I'd wish had a Hi-def version - those speech bubbles really are too small!

This evening I dug out my Game Gear and played
Outrun (Bit of a comedown after I've been hammering Coast to Coast all week)
Sonic 1,2,Chaos (The first is much the best)
Castle of Illusion (better than the MD version IMO)
Space Harrier (terrible)
Super Kick Off (quite weird not having the ball glued to your feet, it's actually pretty impressive)
Halley Wars (Bloody excellent)
Columns
Cosmic Spacehead (quite charming)
Prince of Persia (my favourite version, shame it was a Master System conversion so you couldn't read the passwords on the tiny screen)

I used to have Alien Syndrome and Fantastic Dizzy, but they seem to be gone forever. My copy of Mega Drive collection still hasn't arrived, so hopefuly it will tomorrow and this retro session will have put me in the mood.

I'm playing Lost Planet (fun if you skip the cut scenes) and Zelda TP which I've amost finished and loved so much that I'm stalling, spending all my time fishing or galloping around instead of looking for the finish. I know I'm almost done because I've filled all the slots on the inventory etc. - wouldn't it be cool if they let you think that and then WHAM! you suddenly find you've only scratched the surface. I'd love to play a next-gen Zelda instead of a definitive last-gen Zelda, which is what TP seems like.

Also playing a bit of Wario on the Wii, but it's a bit shite isn't it? Twisted ftw.

HEATHENS!

WarioWare Smooth Moves is ace, it's just too short that's all.

I had more fun in my hours playing that than I can remember ever having in any other game.
