Seriously. That's *all* I've played since Burning Crusade came out.

Someone help me. Please....

Sensible World Of Soccer (Amiga).

On the *cough* Xbox.

Which reminds me: anyone remember which team John Byrne was playing for? Or any other strangely over-powered forwards?

I'm sorry about that. Burning Crusade had a weird effect, I can't be bothered to play it anymore.

Got back into Forza last night. Firstly, I never realised how gorgeous it is (seriously, it's fecking beautiful in 480P on a big screen). Secondly, I didn't realise just how dumbed-down it is. It's supposed to be a sim yet turns up designed to be played in "very easy" mode, with all the assists turned on. Switching assists off even increases the points you can win. Turning off the racing line nets you 15%, as does switching to manual gears.

That said, once the assists are off, you have a damn decent racer. The AI's impressive and the customisation options are pretty comprehensive

Zelda:TP. Think I'm on the lat bit now, so putting it off by going all 'completist': got all the hearts and bugs. One (I think) last fish to catch and about 14 poes. Not sure I'll bother though.

Zookeeper - hooray.

Phoenix Wright popped through the letterbox a few hours ago..

Re: John Byrne.

I already checked Sunderland. Perhaps I have a different version from the one I played to death on my Amiga.

And, yes, apparently he did do xmen. He penned their lesser-known "Russian-Mafia-Phase", where they had to deal with a fiendish plot to bring down The Worlds Best Sport (that's official, look, I used capital letters and everything; oh, and that's football by the way - the one where you spend the most time actually fucking kicking a ball for those of you who insist on calling your own sport's winners World Champions without actually having anyone else take part. No, Canada doesn't count.) from within by Professor Abrahamivich (spooky). Dunnno why it didn't take off. It had everything: footy; hooligans getting uncannily x-ed; pies...

Shame.

You're all bloody liars, cos if you'd been playing the games you said you were playing at the moment you claimed, you'd not have been able to type whatever game you said you were playing at the moment in question.

Or something.

Unless you are able to play and type at the same time, of course - in which case, I salute your l33tn355.

Mostly WoW at the mo, but as I said in my 'not enough hours in the day' thread, I'm also thoroughly absorbed in FFXII, Guild Wars, Titan Quest, Twilight Princess, Dragon Quest VIII and Oblivion.

Has anyone else got any more suggestions for really really long games I can start? *sigh*

It's as if I've just discovered RPGs or something.

Not got a 360 have you but I think you'd probably love Mass Effect

Alternating evening sessions between Lost Planet and Zelda: Twilight Princess at the moment.

Is it wrong that I'm enjoying Lost Planet more than Zelda?

Playing Dark Messiah at the moment, was really enjoying it at the start but am finding the temple rather dull, hopefully it's back to interesting places later on.

Indeed, I've been keeping an eye on it, but right now there aren't enough games to persuade me that I need a 360 just yet.

It's inevitable I'll get one at some point (Halo 3 - or Bioshock, if I haven't upgraded my PC again by then - will be the clincher), just as it's inevitable I'll buy a PS3 when Fumito Ueda's next project is imminent.

Ah. You've not lost your posting habits, just moved them to another forum. Great.

Please allow me to explain myself:

I'm enjoying Zelda a lot, but at timse it feels a little bit of a chore. Luckily the game throws enough brilliant moments to largely outweight the sometime dull adventuring.

On the other hand, I know really shouldn't be enjoying Lost Planet. It's nothing more than a straightforward arcade shooter with big boss battles, but some of the set-pieces are such that it never fails to get my heart pounding. It has that "have-to-have one more go at that f****** boss before calling it a night" element. Almost a throwback to an era of rudimentary game design. And I do like that at the moment.

I'm considering picking this up now. I'd been looking forward to it for yonks, but when the demo made my PC strain like Jade Goody in a geography exam I lost interest a bit.

I can imagine someone not fully enjoying Zelda, to be honest. Even I've found a few parts boring, but mainly because there's such a strong sense of deja vu with some sections.

It's still great, but as of yet I've seen nothing that is truly spectacular. Hopefully those moments are still to come.

Keep it nice fellahs.

FWIW I'm thoroughly enjoying Lost Planet and have sacked off Zelda in favour of it. I don't feel guilty either. Much as I've loved the final moments of TP, I just cannot be doing with some of the puzzles, they're just stupidly illogical and don't even give you the merest hint of WTF you're supposed to do next.

Just reached a bit on Lost Planet where this giant snow-worm is trying to turn me and my rocket-sled into sushi, and I'm absolutely bowled over by how pretty it looks at times.

Frod, I can't force you to like me, but I will try my best to be a better poster. Please try to keep an open mind. As for the Shinji incident, I did apologise profusely about it, even if it did take me a full day to realise how inapropriate my behaviour had been.
