Wonder how much money I need to spend on a PC that can run this. I'd love to play a good SimCity game again.

Can't find anything about suggested specs but I reckon that looks suspiciously directX-11-ey.

Still want it though. I will prise my gaming rig out of my other half's hands to play this. Assuming it won't run on my mac, of course!

It probably will run on a Mac. In 2014! :)

The required specs (posted back in March so they might not actually be accurate)

Processor:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better or Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz or better

Operating System:
Windows XP/Vista/7

RAM:
Windows XP: 1.5GB
Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB
PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB RAM

Graphics Card:
ATI X1800 or better*
nVidia 7800 or better*
Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better*

No idea what any of that means so I'm just going to hope that cloud gaming suddenly takes of and I can play this on my Air. :)

If those specs were any lower they'd be subterranean.

If those specs are any indication of the real specs, I might actually be able to get this!

I hope the price comes down. Nearly 40 quid for a PC game?! And it's inevitably bound to end up asset-stripped for microcontent opportunities too (it's an EA game)

Next feb eh? In time for my birthday! YAY!

Played a bit of this at a game show in Norway last weekend. I meant to only check it out for a few minutes, but stayed on it for a good 20-30 minutes...

It's really nice to actually see all the simulation going on. At one point during the tutorial I was asked to to turn on a power plant in the middle of the night. I did that, but nothing happened for a little while. I thought it was broken, but then the workers started to arrive and the electricity started to be pumped out to every home in the little village.

Compared to SimCity 2000 - the SC game I've played - the "buildable" area looked a bit smaller, but I don't think I will mind that if the level of simulation is that much higher and because you are able customize your city (and even buildings!) a lot more than you previously could.

Now, do I get into PC gaming for this or not...?

At least you have a PC that will probably be capable of running it in a few months time. :)

New video detailing multi-city gameplay

I guess that makes up for seemingly smaller cities.

A Reddit AMA from the Sim City 5 team blows up in their face quite spectacularly.

As it says in there, Ubisoft couldn't categorically prove that it did anything to stem piracy.

I doubt EA will listen though. Which is a shame because it looks like it's going to be brilliant. I might just have to put up with the DRM / always online shite and like / lump it.

Sucks though - like the article says, don't bother with an online petition, just don't buy it if it ticks you off that much.
