Gametrailers Preview.

This is out soon, and looking rather fantastic, like a grown-ups Fable.

Not really heard any hype or build up for it yet though, looking forward to the demo released on the 17th.

Yeah I saw a bit about this a couple of months back on some random video they had on the X360 dashboard.

It looked fairly decent back then, as it still does in that GT vid.

Good choice of words when you use 'grown up' that's how they were origianlly angling the marketing of this game from what I remember.

Should be interesting, I'm certainly looking forward to the demo too :)

Heard all sorts of good things about it, proper combat system, loads of detailed lore written for it. Couple of my buddies are on the team writing the official guide, they... "reckon"... it's awesome.

From my hands-on with it at the EA thing last year it felt very WOW-esque, quite cartoony. Think Fable is a good benchmark tbh, though it did appear to have more depth than any of the Fable games.

Never wrote the article coz it was from the interview that failed to save to my phone, sadly, was quite annoyed about that. It's going to be a separate MMO as well, iirc.

Most important, is the gameplay fun or just more of MMORPG go there and kill 200 enemies to get 5 objects to complete a quest?

And does it look good? Voice acting?

The pedigree of the game seems awesome, Salvatore, Mcfarlane, Elder Scrolls main designer, Big Huge Games...

It's one game that got highly excited, more even than ME3! O_O

All I played was the starter dungeon and a teeny bit of the first village, but combat was fluid and fast, with obligatory (yet inoffensive) quicktime boss-killer finishing move in a similar style to Star Wars: Force Unleashed (less lightsabers, obviously, but you get the idea) . I don't remember any groundbreaking advancements in rpg gameplay, pretty much the usual fare.

From what I remember of the interview McFarlane kept going on about 'the buffet', meaning you can pick and choose whatever you want to do eg crafting/archery etc. And yeah the voice acting was ok, if a little caricatured. That's kinda how the whole game felt actually, though I'd not thought of it like that til just now.

I never saw enough of the world to know how open it is. I do remember a fairly hefty map though, and a shortish walk from the opening dungeon to the first town.

The MMO is a separate timeline and will have more character archetypes, and that's about all I know. Those hoping for a more 'grown up' game will be disappointed though, I think - it's at least as cartoony as wow, in visual terms.

Game is nothing like WoW to play, the combat system is player-skill based, more like a fighter than an RPG "in theory".

Sounds really good. Really hyped about it. Sounds like it's going to be a really fun action rpg.

I just hope it isn't a big let down, specially story wise. Saw the video again and looks very good. Reminds me a bit of the art style of Darksiders (it has a sort of comic book feel to it). I really don't mind the cartoony look, actually, I prefer it to the realist look that some games try to achieve...

Really nice preview over at IGN.

The 22 minute video on the second page is just great to watch!

Apparently the Xbox 360 demo is limited for the Gold subscribers.

The PC demo (Does that still exist?!) is now available on Origin.

Several sites are reporting that 38 Studios has bitten the dust and dragged with them Big Huge Games...

Best of lucks to all who lost their jobs!
