59p and more addictive than ice cream. Has saved my sanity this past few days and is my fave tower defense game.

Buy at your peril as it's VERY hard to put down.

Ha - I've been playing it on and off for the past week. It is addictive as hell but also tough as old boots.

I'm still not entirely sure what the yellow towers do or exactly how the rainbow towers work.

I'm stuck on level 1 of medium.

We need a tower guide as I can't find out what they do, might bring in some visitors too! Although I want a guide for totally selfish reasons :)

thumper towers send out a shockwave damaging multiple enemies. Not sure what u mean by rainbow tower?

Haven't played much of the sequel (still working my way through the first one), but if it's the same as the first then the yellow towers slow down the creeps, and the rainbow 'vortexes' can be hooked up to existing towers to give them more power (they absorb energy whenever creeps are killed). Something like that anyway.

Edit: Just read Mappy's post - maybe not then, didn't realise the sequel would have new towers!

Mappy - I'm stuck on that level too.

Kay - Yeah that's what I thought too but the Yellow towers seem to inflict a small amount of damage and don't noticably slow down enemies in Swarm.

I'm confused by the rainbow towers because they seem to absorb damage whether they're hooked upto other towers or not. Which begs the question, what's the point in hooking them up to towers? Also, sometimes they simply don't stay connected to my other towers so I don't bother with them anymore and just pop them as a last resort.

The rainbow towers always absorb damage, however once you hook it up to a normal tower then that tower can use the extra energy for massive damage. For example, with the lasers every now and then you'll get a super shot that will wipe out all incoming creeps. :)

Ok the thumper towers don't slow down enemies, there is a specific tower for that which fires out electric bolts and is very good once upgraded. The vortexes have made their first appearance on the level that hairy and I are stuck on, I know they can be exploded as a last ditch measure.

Kay I think you would like the new game, there are no set pths through the levels and it's much easier to place towers exactly where you want them.

It's quite tough tho :/

Yeah, I bought it as soon as it came out. 59p = instabuy. Nice to see they've now added a few tweaks and openfeint integration to the first one as well.

My strategy so far has been to try and create a massively long maze out of green towers with the odd laser or missile tower in amongst it and I got to 17/20 but eventually died.

I know Rhythm has got past that level as his Facebook page updates everytime he completes a new level - hopefully he'll give us some advice soon.

lay the 6 cannons down first to block entry ways then lay the top left laser. Lay the bottom left laser next then lay the tower that slows stuff down followed by the two missilie towers. Lay the final two cannons at the bottom exit to help catct strays.

Upgrade only a little at a time as you go, link up the lasers to a vortex for a boost.

I got the screenie off a forum and it helped me loads so passing it on!

Jesus that's *way* more efficient than any of my designs. I always try to create criss-crossing mazes that force creeps along the longest route between their entry and exit points.

How do you screengrab again? I should take a snap of the finishing status of one of my levels for comparison ;-)

I'd like to buy this but I refuse to support rip-oof developers! It's fucking ridiculous!

I paid twice this price for the original and I doubt I've got less than ten hours of enjoyment out of it.

Shocking. I'd get much better value buying ODST.
