I didn't say I liked the game: just my Eyepet! ;)

The box is pretty nifty, sure enough.

No review of Hello Kitty Online yet? Apparently it's the new World of Warcraft. Or "cutecraft", as I read elsewhere.

Who owes me a review?

I know NY is doing Uncharted 2, Shivoa is on with AION, Peej has a game I sent out today. I've forgotten who I sent Vempires to. And I'm sure there's something else...

Just played the first 10 minutes of Uncharted.

Meeeeh. Overhyped graphics are a jagged mess. Lip-syncing is annoyingly off.

Nathan Drake's voice now reminds me of Price of Persia (Ubisoft's fault, I know).

3 STARS UNLESS THINGS DRASTICALLY IMPROVE.

Oooh err. Prepare the site for some excellent fanboybaiting publicity where you're constantly accused of "downrating games to be controversial and get hits".

Btw, it ain't me you sent anything to Hairy.

I going to have to disagree with you on this. There are plenty of PS3 games that suffer from jaggies but Uncharted 2 isn't one of them. For me it is the best looking game on a console by a distance.

How are liking the gameplay though? I know a lot of people feel there is too much emphasis placed on the shooting sections rather than exploration. I reckon Naughty Dog have a got a better balance in this game than the first and have got the pacing of the game spot on.

I'm your friendly neighbourhood Vempire, HA.

Game completed, replay value questioned, price point queried. Wife taken ill, not concentrating fully on review task...

I'll work on it the next couple of days if poss, need to get it done by the weekend. It's better than CID for sure :)

Not the first time I've heard someone moan about the jaggies in Uncharted 2, I saw one on the top of a jeep, that was it.

I wonder if it's something to do with the setup it's on?

I'll try and film what I'm seeing (jagged edges everywhere) at some point, and perhaps you could confirm if you see anything different.

Dead Space was nicer to look at, to give an example for comparison.

That's not knocking Uncharted's art direction, though. It's a pretty world.

Didn't really notice the jaggies and I'm usually fussy about stuff like that. What I did notice was the sheer amount of detail poured into the characters and the game world, from top to bottom.

There's one bit quite late in the game that just had me standing there for about ten minutes just panning the camera around and taking in the scenery. Really breathtakingly well done considering you soon find out that it's not a skybox and you'll soon be down in amongst that scenery.

Jaw dropping game.

BTW Rich cheers for the package this morning, certainly "different". Might have to break my slim ethical code and do a proper unboxing style feature for this one, it's that cute.

Are you running the game on a Full HD tv?

I had that problem when I first connected and configured the PS3 to my new Samsung, the PS3 wasn't choosing by herself the correct screen resolution... It needs to be in automatic and not configured to always show 1080p... :(

SDTV. It's not that good a TV, so that might be part of the problem. I've sort of gotten over it, I mean the huge scenery and awesome train bit helps you get over it.

But I'll definitely have to film it to find out if maybe I'm overreacting or what.

Usually the blurriness of SDTVs would help hide jaggies, not show them up even more. What connection are you using - RGB SCART?

Yeah.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term? I mean what should be a smooth line (like the edge of a chair) is really jagged.

No, jaggies are the right term, it's just surprising that's all. I would understand if you were using a crappy composite connection, but not through RGB SCART. Then again - PS3's are borked with SDTVs, aren't they? Locked at 50hz, frame-rate issues etc. It's the reason I got the 360 instead last year (when I had no HDTV).

When I first got my PS3 it was downstairs on the SDTV and was virtually unusable. Remember when we got a looksee at the PS3 at that Radio 1 thing Kay? It looked worse than that (they were playing the PS3 on a standard def telly and we were all a bit underwhelmed IIRC)

I'm pretty sure it hasn't. Not that it matters as it wouldn't run on my computer anyway.

Are you sure it was an SDTV? I remember it being massive and widescreen. It wasn't bad though, Ridge Racer still looked very pretty. But yes, we were underwhelmed, mainly because everyone was super-excited after trying the Wii. How times have changed, eh? :)
