The gaming equivalent of a silent eggy hummer emitted during a long elevator ride peej about Death Track: Resurrection |

Can't believe we don't have one of these threads already. What kind of games forum is this? Oh, wait.... Anyway, seeing as how my 360 has been hijacked by my Flatout and Rainbow6 loving mates all weekend, I've been playing a lot of DS. In particular Slitherlink, SimCity DS and Brothers in Arms. Slitherlink I've finally managed to get into after finding the menu translation on EG. It's not bad at all actually, it's not grabbed me as much as Picross has yet but it's definitely something I will dip in and out of. SimCity DS has so far really disappointed me. The loading times are terrible and I'm sorry to say that the stylus just isn't precise enough when it comes to building zones. The problem is confounded even more by the fact that the two zoom levels you can use to view you city are either too tight or too far out, there needs to be another level in between. Brothers in Arms though, wow there's a surprise. It's a 3rd person shooter on the DS and is surprisingly brilliant. Sure the graphics are PS1 quality at best but seeing the game with desctructible buildings(entirely scripted), an impressive 3d engine and such intuitive controls was a massive surprise for the DS and I can seriously see me putting some more time into it. |

Brothers in Arms looks really good. Might have to see if I can pick that up from somewhere. I finished the Darkness late last week, but I fully intend to head back in as soon as I get a free moment, grab some more of the unlockable content and finish up the side missions. One of my favourite games of the year without a doubt. Outside of that, I've been playing The Sims : Pet Stories for most of the weekend. I'll be glad to see the back of that for sure! I have Socom Fireteam Bravo 2 on the PSP to play tomorrow, and then Armoured Core 4 and the retail release of Defcon in the few days after that. Once those are done though and i'm back to my own stuff it'll be The Darkness and Call of Juarez all the way, with a bit of multiplayer Virtua Tennis with the flatmates whenever I get the chance. Might get around to finishing Resistance at some point as well :) |

Shadowrun, The Darkness, Call of Juarez, Tenchu Z, Overlord, Flatout, Forza 2, DiRT, Carcassonne, Sim City DS, Hotel Dusk, New York Times Crosswords, Crush, Harvest Moon Innocent Life, Killzone Liberation... ... and I think I just worked out why my book is overdue. |

Shadowrun, which is bloody great, but in need of a matchmaking patch. Zelda Phantom Hourglass, slow going with my poor Japanese, but great practice and really fun. Game after game of Carcassonne (though most didn't show up on the leader board score due to my live screwing up). It's quicker to play a game than I expected, deep, and addictive. I'm still going on Catan as well, a real favourite from XBLA. |

You just lost 5 minutes of precious gaming time writing that post ;-) I'm currently indulging in Flatout and R6:Vegas on the 360; Flatout is really superb, and I've not even been online yet (come on, you buggers, start playing it again!). And my wife and I are playing through TR:Anniversary on the PS2, which is to be honest a complete joy to play. Except for the Damocles room in St Francis Folly, which was an utter c*nt. Oh, and I'm hoping to be playing Tenchu Z within the next couple of days. |

I got a 360 at the weekend, so Forza and Viva Pinata are holding my attention. |
|||
| |||
I started ActRaiser on Wii VC at the weekend. I like it, but the Minotaur at the end of the second platforming section is chuffing hard... :o( |

Since it was released I have not played anything apart from Forza, every single possible second*! It's been a long time since a game has held me like this, and I don't even see the end of me playing, I reckon I'm near the end of the beginning, if that. When I polish off the career (over half way now), there's more painting to be done, online racing, trying a few online tournaments, the EG weekly competition and hot-lapping for every track and every class! Speaking of which I did a dangerous thing last night, I put two new people on my friends list who are fast, meaning my 'friends' scoreboard just got a lot more competitive! Oh well, I can always chuck them off ;) * Apart from a brief 20 mins to finish off co-op Gears of War with the Dude, talk about unfinished games, you can actually see the join where they ran out of development time! And why do we need to see all those ugly faces at the end? That's the true horror of video-games! |

mostly playing, (deep breath) tenchu, the darkness, call of juarez, flatout, rb6 maps, carcasonne and dirt, need to find more time for shadowrun and foza though... |
|||

Current playlist: Shadowrun, Flatout, Forza 2, Mario Strikers Rainbow 6 Vegas will probably be returning to the playlist if there people are playing the new (free) map packs in the next couple of weeks. |
|||
| |||
Okami. Haven't played anything else for the last three or so weeks. I think I'm getting close to the end now though, after a good 55 or so hours. Absolutely superb, it is. K |

Flatout (360) and R6 Vegas (360) - and the new maps are great! Even if I've only played one of them so far :D Picked up The Darkness but haven't even unwrapped it yet. Still (planning on) playing Oblivion as there's still a lot I want to do in it, and that's before I even think of DLC, although it's almost a certainty that I'll pick a few of those up. Then there's the proper expansion pack... Oh, and Me & My Katamari! o/ Not even going into my GP2X addiction... |
|||
| |||
over the weekend... we love katamari (ps2) more brain training (ds) picross (ds) gradius v (ps2) sega rally (saturn) zelda:twilight princess (wii) |

I really don't get this. I can precisly control the building in both levels of zoom... although a lot of people have said they've struggled. I agree about the speed though. |

Oh, and I'm still playing Oblivion. Didn't see that one coming did you? |
|||

Does the DS lite have a thinner stylus? I'm using the DS chunky kit kat and that might explain why I'm struggling. |
|||

Sim City is fine on my chunky DS. I've actually been surprised how many people have been down on the game. |
|||
| |||
Not a lot! I played through Halo again a couple of weeks ago, but apart from that just a couple of hours of Trusty Bell and about six races of MotorStorm. |

PS2 Tomb Raider: Anniversary (about 7h in), good fun. Planet Puzzle League (not started) Wii Mercury Too many games already, and it's not even christmas... :/ |

Oh, I forgot about that - a mate and I are playing through Halo & Halo 2 again in co-op, in anticipation of Halo 3. Not far into the first one yet, lots to come. o/ |

Ratchet and Clank 3, just had to give up on the final boss as it's too fucking hard, which is very frustrating after 20 hours of fun. I now have very little to play as I'm stuck in the last gen console-wise and there's not much on the DS to grab my attention apart from More Brain Training which arrived this morning. |
|||
| |||
Currently playing quite a bit of Forza 2, and odd bursts of Dead Rising. Plus Advance Wars on teh DS, but i'm virtually always playing that. ^_^ |

Spin you're missing out on the excitement of Flatout, you should buy it. I happen to know of a sealed copy going for 28 quid... Playing mostly PC at the moment with Lotro getting most of my time other than Call of Juarez which stole my entire gaming time yesterday but I've finished it now. Best £6 I've spent on a game in ages. Other than that it's Flatout:UC which is jolly good stuff. |
|||
| |||
Hmmm, at the moment i'm playing... PC - Fallout 2, Dreamfall, TR:A PSP - MG:Ac!d DS - Rocket Slime, Jump Superstars PS2 - FFXII GC - Twilight Princess I'm not going to go into games that are unfinished but not playing at the moment. There's lots of them. Oh, hopefully i can add Global Defence Force on PS2 tonight. PS2 Bug squashing > 360 Bug squashing! |
