Heh, reminds me of the time I went to see Heaven when I was in the Netherlands a few years back. The opening of the scene is in half english/half italian, which I was okay with. But after that, it switched entirely to Italian... with Dutch subtitles. Well, the film /looked/ quite interesting... |

Today I bin mosely watchin: Predator - Still as good as ever White Noise - Fucking crap load of inconsequential old bollocks and a waste of Michael Keaton's time. Wallace and Gromit - Curse of the Were Rabbit - Ace but please stop letting the yanks get involved. Peej |

The Departed. Very good. Jack Nicholson kind of reprises some Joker moments, and is the star of the film for sure. Liked the plaster-cast reference to the original. |

Having seen the original, i found it really dull, with no surprises. In fact I couldn't be bothered watching til the end. |

Went to see Fincher's latest, Zodiac, in the cinema last night. Absolutely awesome film, but definitely not one for those with short concentration. It's 3 hours long and pretty much just police analysing evidence all the way through, but it's all real-life events and personally i find that stuff fascinating. In a morbid sort of way. |

Really fancy Zodiac - but I think I'd rather spend those three hours watching the DVD from the comfort of the sofa. Quite interested in the third Pirates film (but didn't really rate the second one that much). Been asked if I want any films for my birthday. I've come up with Hot Fuzz and Clerks 2. I'm interested in Apocalypto - but don't know anyone who's seen it. Any one here give it a quick review? |

Magicians: Comedy about two magicians who split up after a tragic accident involving a guillotine, but then compete against each other in a magic competition. Stars them two from Peep Show, Jessica Stevenson and Peter Capaldi, directed by ex-comedian/magician Andrew O'Connor. Story was very predictable and obvious, you'll've seen it all before. Pacing was a bit slow, taking too long to set up the next joke. But when the jokes do finally arrive, they are very funny (although maybe not orgasmically funny like the woman two rows in front of me seemed to think). Very crude in places. 7/10, including a bonus mark for resisting the temptation to give a cameo to every single comedy actor with a British passport. |

Watched A Room For Romeo Brass a couple of nights ago. First film for Shane Meadows and Paddy Considine (who is fast becoming one of my favourite actors). Top stuff. Doesn't eclipse Dead Man's Shoes for me, but well worth your time. Also saw Clerks 2 at last. Haven't laughed so much since seeing Borat. It's a film that's crying out to be quoted... but who would you quote it to? :) |

Gun porn for the win! Just watched The Shooter which I really liked. Basically just an excuse to highlight that snipers = cool as fuck, but also very Jason Bourne-ish. Pretty fast moving, doesnt take long to get in to and a decent no-brainer movie. Might have just persuaded me to pick up GRAW 2 for some long distance sniping action. One part of it particularly reminded me of the Fishing Village map from GRAW1. |

I watched Black Snake Moan the other day. For a film that stars Christina Ricci as a sex maniac chained to Samuel L Jackson's radiator for half the film, its not what you think. Nicely shot, Mr Jackson gives it a performance thats not his usual trademark affair. I personally enjoyed it as a tale of redemption. And because we saw Ricci's breasts. |

Tell No One - Ne le dis a personne: Good (French) thriller, after some book The Host - Korean horror (?) film, also good, but it's not as much horror as one would expect. It's a bit strange as it has some rather surreal moments and at times it's hard to say what sort of film it wants to be. Now thinking about it, it's not a horror movie at all, it's more about the redemption of a broken family relationship. I think. Hot Fuzz - I probably didn't catch half the references, but I thought it was quite funny in many ways, and once the shooting starts; it becomes really good... Especially liked the rather gory bits, which were completely uncalled for, for their comedy value. :) |

Saturday - Hot Fuzz, loved it. Today - need something light and uplifting, so I've just put Schindler's List on o_O |

Saw Fantastic Four 2 over the weekend. Very good fun and fast-paced. Some very cool effects in it as well - Silver Surfer was so cool it almost hurt. Also saw Borat. It was by far the funniest film I'd seen in a long time. Sasha Baron Cohen is a very brave man! |

Me neither, it came as a bit of a revelation tbh. |

I just watched The Proposition. A beautiful and at times poignant movie. A riveting turn from Ray Winstone, and John Hurt was a riot in his couple of scenes. |

I rewatched Hero tonight. And it's still as spellbinding as when I first watched it. Still rates as the most gorgeous film I've ever seen, tbh. |

Broken Flowers (Bill Murray). Apart from flashes of Bill Murray goodness, it's pretty poor. It feels like it should be a 1 hour mini-film - the visits to the ex-girlfriends are pointless and the ending seems to be ambiguous to make it more "arty". Think I'll watch The Wire now to offset this. |

Saw Transformers on Thursday night - really enjoyed it. Just enough plot to keep it going, but not too much that nothing got developed properly (Spiderman 3 springs to mind). SFX were awesome ! |

The Transporter 2. Picked it up cheapo in a DVD sale as I enjoyed the first one. Though this one wasn't as good, there were some fucktastically cracking stunts in it (one bit where he removes a car bomb using a crane UPSIDE DOWN was just awesome). Dunno why I like Statham as he's basically just a bit brainless and thuggy but he suits the role perfectly, and the usual Besson / Leterrier over the topness shines through. Might have to pick the others up on DVD now Peej |

The Black Dahlia. A prime cut of beef buried under one too many fatty deposits. And Josh Hartnett. |

A Scanner Darkly. Thought the rotoscope would be an annoying distraction. It was, for about five minutes, and then I forgot about it ... and fell in to a really rather good sci-fi flick. |

Yeah, the narrative has a nice enough twist and I was actually looking forward to the visuals before I saw it. Big thumbs up from me. |

I watched '300' yesterday. One of my fav films of all time and the second it's released on Blu-ray I'll be picking up a copy. Loved every second of it. |

Watched Taeguki - Brotherhood of War this weekend after some heavy pimping from a bloke at work. Feckin' HELL the Koreans are pissing all over Hollywood at the moment. The first ten mins and some of the action sequences make Saving Private Ryan look like a right bag o' shite. Thoroughly recommended. Peej |

Watched Blades of Glory and Wild Hogs at the weekend. There's 3 hours of my life i'll never get back. ;_; Luckily i picked up the Alien Nation boxed set in a sale and it's great. Watched it years ago and i've really enjoyed watching it again. Sexy alien ladies for the win! :) |

Anger Management. First Adam Sandler movie I've made it through without wanting to punch him. |
