Er no. I think not...!

Giving Porco Rosso a try next. Think she'll love that as she loves planes (very odd child!)

I love it, but my fave is probably Kiki's Delivery Service.

And Totoro. You cannot go wrong with Totoro. One of the most wonderful films ever made, that one.

She loves Totoro. I showed her that, then let her watch Toy Story 3 again and when she realised Totoro was one of the little girl's toys, she loved it.

Kiki's Delivery Service went down well, mostly because of jiji.

Atlas Shrugged Part 1.

Insufferably dull. To be fair to the creators, though, it would be difficult to do justice to the book *without* it being insufferably dull.

It bombed spectacularly, but apparenly part 2 is due for release in October! Looks like none of the investors are going Galt on this one.

Right that's Ponyo ordered. 2 disk edition on amazon for 6.79, that'll do me.

Finchers version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - far superior to the original version, better cast, directed and paced than the original, and i normally despise remakes.

Must admit I thought it was superb and I'm normally the same about remakes. Only thing I didn't like about it was Lisbeth, I still think Noomi Rapace was better but Daniel Craig actually made a pretty good Blomquist I thought.

The Ides of March.

Fantastic cast but the trailer makes it look like a little more of a thriller. Alright, but should have been a bit more dynamic, I think.

Back to the Future

Great bluray transfer and a brilliant bit of 80's film making. Was watching it before deciding whether to let our 5 year old see it- bit too much swearing, but he wandered in and we had a detailed discussion on time travel.

Batman Begins. Haven't seen it since the HD-DVD (!). Aged very well, seems like a great superhero film. Need to re-evaluate my Iron Man love in light of seeing it again...

Funnily enough I re-watched that and Iron Mans 1 & 2 recently too. Love Nolan's Batman and am a bit sad to think that the next film will be his last effort with the caped crusader as I think he had things going in the right direction (2nd film was better IMHO though).

Both Iron Man films are great - Still haven't seen The Avengers yet though, but hoping Iron Man 3 turns out alright.

The second Iron Man was not a patch on the first one. Still alright, but the first one is right there up the top of my favorite superhero movies.

It's not really worth comparing it to Nolan's Batman. As good as they are, they're not exactly "fun" movies like the Marvel ones have tried to be.

Agree with you there jiGen. Iron Man has been my favourite superhero film since it came out and the tone is completely different to Batman.

Interestingly (or not) I always thought that Darkman was the best stab at what Batman should have been until Batman Begins came out. Ironic since Raimi went on to direct Spidey.

I thought the 2nd Batman film was a little bit long tbh. Nothing wrong with it but the whole hospital section came after a false ending and dragged it on a bit. Looks like the new one is almost 3 hours too?

Yup Nolan doesn't do 'short' does he!

I liked the first Iron Man film better than the second, but I never get tired of Scarlet Johannsen's arse in IM2 so it gets watched more.

It's great, but it's a sort of follow up to Whisper Of The Heart, so I'd watch that first.
Both good, but more suited to early teens than just a few years old.
Although WOTH has an awesomely grumpy cat that rides the train!

Watched Troll Hunter the other day. Wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Story rattles along, effects are good (apart from one dodgy section on a bridge), and a decent cast.
Given that I picked it up in Asda for a fiver, it was a bargain.

Awesome movie, loved every bit of it.

The voice acting is good and the film just looks jaw dropping! :)

New Spidey. All around good entertainment, Garfield is better suited to to the role than Maguire (also, holy moly, that was ten years ago), although Emma Stone is no Kirsten Dunst.

I'd read the new spidey was aimed at the twilight audience of emo vampire lovers- does this come across in the film?

Additionally, did you see Dunsts arse in the film Marie Antoinette?

All I can really say is the Peter/Gwen relationship is pretty central to the movie, I have no idea what else would or wouldn't be in line with Twilight. Still felt like a Spiderman story to me.

And no, I haven't seen Marie Antoinette... yet. ^^;

I never really got into Kirsten Dunst. I could never get past the image of her being an annoying brat in "Interview with the Vampire" and it kinda stuck. She's hot, but she could dig ditches with her chin.

Finished watching the Dark Knight last night. IMHO not as good as Batman Begins but still great. Let down by Maggie G not being as cute as Katie Holmes and by Bale going slightly OTT with the Batman voice at times.

Oh, and like the Burton films, it's all about the villains, which Begins wasn't.

Katie Holmes' jelly tot smuggling in Batman Begins was extremely distracting. She is very cute, and, apparently back on the market! Yay!

Love the fact that just like Nicole Kidman, the first thing Holmes did was buy a pair of heels and sack her (scientologist) agent :)
