Fed up with having to tighten your wrist-strap before playing?

Lost one too many high definition televisions to accidentally-thrown Wiimotes? Worry no more, Asobo (the developers of FuEL) have come up with a solution. Their new tennis / racquet sports game ditches the Wiimote entirely, opting for a control system that's very like the original Eyetoy (or indeed with a stretch of the imagination, Microsoft's upcoming Project Natal).

Asobo have developed the title, which will be published by shovelware experts Ubisoft, to utilise a neat little plug-in motion controlled camera. "pixel clouds" detect your arm and body movements.

The camera system has previously been used on Ubisoft's fitness / fatness game "Your Shape" (hey, lighten up, round is a shape!) though there's no word on how this sucker plays.

Should be with us early in 2010. Lovely.

So the Wii gives them a perfectly good racquet controller that's standard across all consoles and Asobo (anti-social oikish behaviour order) are like "screw it, let's do it the hard way".

Why?
