Capcom announces Steel Batallion: Heavy Armor

Speaking at this year's Tokyo Game Show, Capcom and From Software announced that they're collaborating on a sequel to the original Xbox Steel Batallion. You remember the one? It came with a mahoosive controller with two sticks, a hundred levers and more buttons than an Atari Jaguar joypad.

Steel Batallion: Heavy Armor, which we must stress has not yet been confirmed to support the original mech controller, sports WWII-inspired visuals but is set in the year 2082, which is certainly an interesting contrast.

If Capcom were to support the mech controller, well they'll have to get around some technical issues, chief among which is the differences in interface between the Xbox and the Xbox 360. The fact that so relatively few gamers will still have the aforementioned controller also casts doubts on its viability. Still, we can but dream.
