Resident Evil 4 For Wii Confirmed

Renowned Japanese videogames magazine Famitsu has revealed that Capcom are tailoring a new version of Resident Evil 4 specifically for the Nintendo Wii.

Over 2 years after its initial release on the GameCube, Capcom obviously hopes to boost even further what were already strong sales for arguably the greatest game in the Resident Evil Series.

'Biohazard 4 Wii Edition' as it will be called in Japan upon its release on the 31st of May, promises to take full advantage of Wii's controls with the remote used to aim the target cursor and shoot enemies. Holding B and shaking the remote will reload your weapon. And shaking or thrusting the remote will slash enemies who get too close for comfort.

The Wii version will also feature the additional extras that were lacking from the GameCube version but were lated added to the PS2 version including the "Another Order" sequence in which you played as Ada. The game will also feature an exclusive trailer for the next installment in the series 'The Umbrella Chronicles'. While not actually officially confirmed for release outside of Japan with the Wii selling so strongly the world over it almost seems a formality as Capcom will undoubtedly seek to bring RE4 to those people getting into gaming for the very first time with the Wii.

There were some shots of the new Wii Resi game in Famitsu this week, looked like a Time Crisis style shooter.

The Wii remake sounds like it might be worth a go, I enjoyed the GC version but didn't finish it.

The Wii remote used for aiming could be a good call.

Just so long as someone at Capcom sees the sense in making the Wii's first gun-holder-controller type thing. Now that would get me to buy it even though I hated all the Resi "shoot and point" games.
