I've been a bit confused as to what exactly Activison's faceshooter Destiny is all about, so it's lucky that Bungie co-founder, Jason Jones details everything we need to know about Destiny in this handy Youtube video skillfully embedded below.

It all makes a lot more sense to me now, bring it on.

Destiny's Public Beta begins on the 17th of July, and launches worldwide on the 9th of September 2014.

So it's a single player game with drop-in drop-out co-op? Or more like an MMO with a strong single player campaign? I'm still not sure. Looks cool though, think this was the first time I'd seen something that look like final gameplay.

It seems to me to have an MMO like hub, from which you can choose co-op strike missions or progress the story.

I like a lot of the environment work they're doing with this, and I'm sure it'll be a great place to explore, but I have to say that I really am underwhelmed by the enemy characters shown so far. They seem to really lack any personality or distinctive characteristics, and whilst I'm sure my understanding of them will change when I eventually get round to playing this, it's a mite disappointing they didn't manage to create something more memorable

Yeah after watching the E3 I "get" the game now, all looks very slick. Pretty excited to play it, but at first glance I agree with neko - nothing here is quite as striking as the Elites.

I love it. It's the rally game I've been waiting for since Rallisport Challenge 2 (and it's a lot more technical / satisfying than that!) ...
